The Side Quest Lounge: Talk About Anything That Is Not Currently On Fire
Welcome to Off Topic — the Fyrbloc corner for conversations that do not neatly fit into builds, bugs, tools, launches, reviews, marketplace posts, or support.
This is the place for the random side quests.
The thoughts.
The “this has nothing to do with my project but I need to say it” moments.
The “I opened my laptop to work and somehow ended up reading about medieval bridges” moments.
It happens.
The internet is a maze and we are all just people with too many tabs.

What belongs here?
Post here for casual off-topic chat like:
- Films, shows, games, music, books, podcasts
- Desk setups and daily routines
- Funny internet discoveries
- Random questions
- Productivity struggles
- Food, coffee, snacks, and suspicious energy drinks
- “What are people watching?”
- “What game is everyone playing?”
- “What song is stuck in your head?”
- “What did you learn today that has nothing to do with work?”
- Small life updates
- Harmless nonsense
Basically:
Not project support.
Not a launch post.
Not a marketplace listing.
Still worth chatting about.
That is Off Topic.
Good off-topic starters
Use one of these:
What are you watching right now?
What game has stolen your free time?
What song is stuck in your head today?
What is your current snack while building?
What random thing did you learn this week?
What is one non-work thing that improved your day?
What is your “I should be working but…” activity?
Example:
I should be fixing my homepage, but instead I watched three videos about tiny houses and now I think I need a cabin office.
Reasonable.
Not helpful to the build.
Still understandable.

The official Side Quest format
Reply with:
Current side quest:
What I should be doing:
What distracted me:
Was it worth it?
Example:
Current side quest:
Watching setup videos.
What I should be doing:
Writing content.
What distracted me:
A desk with better lighting than my future.
Was it worth it?
Emotionally, yes. Productively, no.
That is the Off Topic spirit.
Keep it friendly
Off Topic should stay relaxed and easy to join.
Good vibes:
- Be funny without being nasty
- Keep it welcoming
- Do not spam
- Do not start fights for sport
- Avoid personal attacks
- Keep heavy debates calm and respectful
- If a topic gets too heated, take a breath and maybe go fix a button instead
Not every thought needs to become a war.
Sometimes a thread can just be about snacks.
Snacks are peaceful.
Usually.
Things that probably belong somewhere else
Use another tag if your post is mainly about:
- A project update → Build Logs
- A finished release → Launches
- A website review → Site Reviews
- A bug or setup issue → Quick Help
- A useful tool/link → Resources
- A paid offer/service → Marketplace
- A platform problem → Support
Off Topic is for everything around the build life, not the serious build issue itself.
If your post includes the sentence:
My site is broken.
It probably belongs in Quick Help.
If your post includes:
My brain is broken because I watched 9 hours of logo design videos.
Off Topic is fine.

Easy reply prompts

Today I am playing:

Today I got distracted by:
Example:
Today I am watching:
A documentary I only half understand.
Today I am listening to:
The same song 14 times.
Today I am playing:
Nothing, but I keep thinking about starting a new game.
Today I am eating:
Something pretending to be lunch.
Today I learned:
I need better cable management.
Today I got distracted by:
Chair reviews.
Valid contribution.
Slightly concerning.
Still valid.
Final note
Building is not only code, tools, launches, bugs, and checklists.
Sometimes builders need a place to talk about random things, laugh a bit, share something odd, or admit they accidentally spent an hour comparing keyboards.
So use this thread for the side quests.
Chat casually.
Keep it friendly.
Do not summon drama.
Return to the build when ready.
Build. Wander. Laugh. Return. Launch.
